That grill guard is too flimsy to stop anything -- I can't tell you how many people I wrote estimates for that had grill guards and all they did was hit a deer and the guard caused more damage than the deer would have -- those flimsy things are for looks only, they don't strengthen anything in an accident.. that chevy wasn't driving away from that accident.. heck, the Ford likely coulda been driven away more so than the Chevy. The airbags likely went off in the Chevy and the radiator and front end was likely shoved back into the engine, rendering it undrivable...

Can't wait to see pics of the new truck Dave!

So did the rig driver say anything to you?

I've never trusted other people to tell me when the coast was clear or not.

I'm sorry to hear about the truck. sounds like you got a better one though haha.

I plead the 5th on that one... Truth is the EGR system on the 6.0's is junk, and responsible for many of the engines troubles. Block it, bypass it, whatever.... along with a set of head studs, you'll have a motor that will last a long time if treated right.

We had a Chevy without a guard hit a deer and it was 15k damage. The grill guard helps some in a lot of cases. Although it does cause it's own damage to the fenders and lights. That Chevy is in bad shape.

Glad nobody got hurt.

Whoever decided to put an EGR on a diesel needs to be beat about the head and face.

I know I'm a little late, but "Sorry 'bout your truck & glad you didn't have any major injuries."

I never trust anyone to give me "the coast is clear" and I avoid letting anyone cross in front of me. Too dangerous..but guess I don't have to tell you. Glad you're OK. Be sure to post pics of the new rig.
