stump, no i didnt powerbreak because we were going up to the red light but it changed before we got there and he was about 15 feet infont and he took off so i did to. so he had some advantage font the start but i think i was gainng on him the whole time.

rodslinger, im 17 years old and its the farm truck so i can drive it but its still dads and he doesnt want to throw the warranty out the window by getting a chip. but we do have a K&N air intake system(not installed yet) and will be deleteing the cat on monday

Hey pete, I have NO first hand exp. but forum knowledge tells me that you do NOT need to replace the intake system on these trucks. It is soo much better and so far advanced then previous intake systems that they actually filter better and more air then most aftermarket applications.

I'll direct you to CHenry who's father I think installed an aftermarket intake on his 6.0 and he can tell you what happened...

not to run off topic here but i hear alot of people saying that the 6.0 already has a superior airbox. Is this only for the 05+ or right from 03.5?

I think they are all good, they have a different design from the 7.3s. Someone else may want to shed alittle more light on this though.

An aftermarket intake is all it would take to void the repair of a blown turbo!

Yep, thats a fact, dad had a turbo go out on his 03 6.0 at 35k miles i believe and the dealer didn't warranty it. The viens looked sandblasted and dad never gets that truck off the pavement so if your talking about a farm truck that sees alot of dusty roads, i think that would be a huge mistake!
BTW, dads little incedent cost him like 1600 bucks if i remember right.
