I have 2 stories On my way home from work, stopped at a light a VW bug (new style) got sandwiched in between my truck rear end and an older buick front end . I took a pretty good shot pulled my truck forward got out and was pretty impressed that the VW held up pretty well the pass compartment was still intact the front was crushed in about 2 ft and the rear about 3 ft. I had a square piece of yellow pastic and foam stuck in my hitch, tweeked my bumper a little. VW totaled, Buick totaled, cops estimated impact speed at 40-45mph. Funny part is the VW emblem was stuck to my license plate, I pulled it off and the plate had the imprint of the emblem stamped into it. Gave it to the lady in the VW and said she might want to keep it, she said the car was a loaner from the body shop where her car was being fixed for another rear ends collision. And of course the lady driving the Buick NO INSURANCE...... Second was my son going from one job to another was starting to pull out of a quick stop and a girl talking on her cell phone in an Accord ran into the back of his OBS F250, cracked her bumper and she claimed it was his fault....un fricking believable, she filed a claim and said it was Matts fault and the insurance was going to charge my sons policy because she was theatening to sue, and it was more economical to do it that way, the adjusted told me. I explained the economics of my situation, I said lets see I have 3 vehicle policies, camper, home owners policy, and an additional liability policy to the tune of approximatly 4400.00 year in premiums, I've been a customer for 25+ years, really didn't have a reason to change insurance companies, but I could and you figure my buisness for the next 25 years would be worth around $110, 000. So if you all decide to charge my sons policy you will not see another dime of my money, I hung up the phone and timed it 34 minutes later my agent called, they did not charge my sons policy. |

I was 17 on my way to work. I came upon a redlight and came to a safe complete stop behind this chevy s-10. I was a little to the right of the s-10 because it had its left turnsignal on. I seen this other s-10 pick up coming up from behind me not slowing down. I put my car in nuetral and took my foot off the brake and braced myself. Sure enough bamb I got hit in the rear. I rolled forward and barely tapped the old man in front of me. I got out of my car, walked up to the old man to make sure he was ok. He didn't even know he was involved. The police came and the next thing you know he is saying his neck hurts and his back hurts. I call BS and tell the cop that I barely touched him. Being no damage to the his truck or the front end of my car. The officer believed me. But the back end of my car was buckled down but still driveable. The guy that hit me worked with my dad. Well after everything was taken car of, I went to work. I got a call from my dad. He asked me how bad did hammer, hammer my car. Well he came up to my work and seen the damage took my car to the body shop and got an estimate. Then he came back to my work in my truck 85 chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 I owned at the time. A couple weeks later I got my 86 t-bird back. All paid for by hammer. I found out he got his nick name because he hammers everything he sees. Wether it is cars, barrells, lightpoles, fence posts, if he is in a motorized vehicle operating it nothing in sight is safe. |
