Dodge did not make the trip.

This is not a race story but a breakdown kill. There are four of us that run around and wheel 4x4 rock crawler together. Bobby has a 04 Dodge 2500, Chris has a 07 2500, Benji has a 06 f250PSD and I have a 95 f 350 PSD and a 03 f 350PSD. They went on a trip this Friday from Ft Worth Texas to Moab Utah to go wheeling. Bobby has probably spent 3K dollars working on his 2500 getting ready for the trip.Set the valves, Took off his lift, bought new tires, bought a big fuel tank for the bed. Installed new magnesium high capacity tranny, and diff covers. Installed new royal purple oil in every thing. A ton of other things I am not remembering. Well 50 miles into he trip a tranny line was now rubbing on something since he lowered it back down and dumped 13 qts of royal purple on the ground. Made temp. repairs and off they go. A little ways down the road temp. repair comes apart and 13 more qts of royal purple gone. This time they go to the Dodge dealer and get a hole new line and 13 more qts of royal purple. I asked my Ford buddy on the trip if he gave him a hard time about the Dodge and he said no Bobby was made enough!

Thats bad news all around first just because I know how bad it sucks to break down on a road trip and second because thats a ton of money in fluid.

Got that right, man...RP is some 'spensive stuff! Too bad Bobby had to go mucking around with a setup that was working. Nature of the beast though, I guess.

39qts of Royal Purple in one trip?
That cost almost as much as the whole tranny!
