01 7.3L vs 2011 dmax

Wont exactly call this a kill but it made me feel pretty good, a guy a work with has a 2011 DMAX (stock). I have a 2001 7.3l with a ts tuner and a 4in turbo back. He always says his truck is so nice and the 7.3L is the crappiest motor Ford has ever made. (Side note: I work at a Ford dealer for their truck shop where our main business is PSD) Anyway I finally have a chance to run him we did a 35mph roll a 55mph roll and a dead start. We were neck and neck the whole time on each run, like I said it wasnt a kill but i was proud that i took a 01 7.3L with minor mods against a brand new dmax and proved the dmax isnt all its cracked up to be.

great to hear man! glad ya did it. ive got a buddy whose dad just got one and he will not shut up about how great it is and how fast it and blah blah blah. go to hear the ol 7.3's still got it! i love my truck, and the power she has!

Yea your truck must run pretty stout, i have an 06 powerstroke with a programmer on it and my dad has a stock 08 duramax. We havent ever raced or anything but i will say that IMO the duramax will smoke my *** and I have driven both of them. So a win is a win, .....

Get rid of the Flashpaq, and get a custom tune SCT, he won't stand a chance!!

the duramax really isnt sitting on throne anymore...... the 6.4 is.

i dont drive my 7.3 except for maybe 2x a year with 200k stock transmisson, little tune cai and exhaust good stuff.
