some kid i always see around town with a new car all the time now has a 90's dodge neon.. sport! so i was driving up a backroad to get out on the main road and he was riding my a$$ the whole way up. we pull out onto the main road and we both hit a red light, 2 lanes. its on a slight hill so the idiot was rolling back and forth just burning his clutch and the light takes about a minute. so finally the other light turns yellow, i put my ts 6pos on 140, reved it up around 2 grand, dumped the clutch and by the next light i probably had 8 truck lengths on him. he continuied to ride my a$$ so i put it in 5th and lugged it for quite a while covering his car in soot. i see him around town quite a bit and he wont even look at me

Nice....though you've got to look out with those first gen Neons. There are a bunch of 'em running in the 10's and 11's and they look stock. (Mine ran mid 13's a LONG time ago.) There is one now that is making 474WHP and about 400 ft/lbs on the dyno. Hasn't seen the track yet b/c he's having tranny issues. (He can't get a tranny that can handle the power.) For an FYI...Stock Neons Of this vintage are about 150HP...at the crank!

Now now...I'm a little sensitive about my Neon. It's a pretty fun car to drive, got pretty good mpg (when it ran), and you can get 'em to go pretty fast. I got mine to the mid 13's with just bolt ons, which ain't too shabby. I'm not a fan of the second gen neons. I have one that is the original body style, 1998, and I love it. It's a total sleeper. About the only thing that gives it away as it sits are the 16" wheel/tires and the seats on the interior. Nothing like a 13 second 4 dr sleeper!!! (Sort of like my slow-a$$ truck!!! LOL) I can't wait to get that car running again.

I am NOT a fan of the ricer boys that mod their Neon's to TF&TF style. That's just ghey!

Nope. Mine has a very tasteful stock replacement from Thermal Research and Dynamics....along with a custom 4-1 longtube header and 2.5" piping. I added a resonator from an RX-7 Turbo II to reduce the noise. It's pretty quiet at idle, but growls when I get on it. Poor car has been sitting for 3+ years with no end in sight. I need to put about $3-4000 into it to get it running and back into shape. Currently is has a warped head, 4 blown struts, two fuel leaks, unknown # of exhaust leaks, and some electrical gremlins.
