Mustang

A buddy and I were headed home from some random eatery food chain some time this past weekend when my buddy noticed one of the new retro mustangs in front of us. With the windows down we could hear that it had exhaust on it and sounded pretty good. The gods of street racing were in our favor and gave us a light next to this mustang, at this point my friend rolled the window down to ask this fella if he wanted to race. The fella in the mustang said some thing like "I don't know man............." I had a few beers while eating dinner with the group of friends and so I didn't think twice about the " " that I screamed at him. (sry mustang guy that was outta line) and the buddy kept trying to get him to race. I had it in 4wd and spooled up waiting on the red light. I saw him reach up and turn off the trac controll very reluctantly. I heard him a few more times with the "I don't know" thing and the light goes green. He moved from that light with the speed of two senior citizens mating. DID I JUST HAVE A GT BACK DOWN FROM A RACE?! I did, the poor boy went out and bought a car with a "performance" V8 and didn't want to race a big ol truck with a diesel. I LOVE IT. Just thought you guys might get a giggle outta the story cause I laughed the ENTIRE way back to the house.

Sometimes guys just can't drive their cars......you might have a fast car, but if you can't drive it it won't be fast...

I don't think the truck would have had a chance. The new mustang GT is pretty much as fast as the last generation cobra. Your truck has to be mid to low 13's to be successful at that one, I don't care if the guy could drive or not. I raced a 2004 cobra, and the guy obviously couldn't drive, he spun until halfway through third and stayed a nose ahead of me the whole time. When he hooked it was like a sling shot, and gone he went. So drive or can't drive, when the car is that fast, our little diesels with our chips, programmers, and exhausts won't come close.

Got more than one here that will take most street cars!!!! seen a 6.0l dually SPANK a eclips turbo. srdieselconcepts has done a Dodge or two that are unreal fast. I've driven them "UNREAL FAST" mid to low 13's with room to spare.

What, you thought I meant a diesel can't beat a fast street car. LOL lets not start that argument. What I wat saying is that a stock or close to stock truck won't beat those cars. I know there out there, my truck is very close for a 7.3 PSD. I can take 4.6 mustangs all day long(stock). As a matter of fact though , I don't kow anything about the guys truck that started this thread, so his also could be one. He didn't race so we don't know, and I don't know what mods he has either. Don't take what I say into context, read and understand first.
