last nite on my way hime from hauling hay all day I was driving down the road with a 2500lb trailer(empty), i see this truck in my mirror, a black 2500 lifted Im pretty sure its an 8.1 Im in my 100hp tow tune, and with the tc locked i start dumping black smoke all over him, the when he has clear road he gets a great big run pulls out be side me i waited till he got to my door and carpet it this is like 50mph we run fairly close hes just a bit faster than me i see head lites coming so i let off he goes past me i meat up with him at the store down the road of course he wont say a word to me, but i could tell he was pissed all that smoke on his new truck!

a guy at work has the same truck with the big ole gas motor. he used to talk smack all the time,until we raced. get rid of the trailer and see what happens. by the way, welcome to the org!!

ya you can take him with out the trailer but i must say with efi live on them 8.1L gasser and he will eat you but stock you won't have a problem..

What kinda power do they make with efi live? My supervisor has an 8.1 yukon and wants to do some minor mods to it.

i have heard that they can get up to 400 to 425rwhp with the efi live and a slightly built tranny and torque conveter and stock they are right at 325rwhp give or take..again i never did it but have heard of guys doing it..

The 8.1 can gain almost 100 horsepower with tuning? That's interesting........I gotta see some info on that.

Interesting, I was curios about the 8.1. I'm stock and a friend of mine with one is scared to hook bumpers.

Well, you never know I guess. I just think it's odd that you could get 100 extra horse out of a gasser like that. I'm so used to seeing gains of 20-30 horse at best. If you find some hard evidence let me know.
