HP debate

I thought this would be the appropriate place for this question.


Take a 400hp 6.0 psd and a 400hp chevy gasser. Give them the exact same transmission. And exact same rear end gear ratio. Make the trucks weigh exactly the same.

Have them pull the exact same 20k lb load up the exact same 6% grade for a half mile.

Which one gets up the hill faster? And why?

they both break down cause 6.0s are junk.. jk id say the diesel cause of tq..

The psd makes the tq at a lower rpm. I would not want too pull 20k with a gas anything

Yeah, HP is pretty irrelevant when talking towing. Torque moves mass.

I'd say Diesel cause the Turbo will build boost and get her moving up the hill.

diesel wins, the gas is prolly making 400 ft lbs versus the diesel 700+ ft lbs
