Pre-Race Win or Lose?

Well I might my friends brother inlaw and he claims his truck has 500 RWHP but all he has is a Diablo tuner.

He wants to race once I get my SCT. What are my odds? What do you guys think? Should I pass and save my self the loss? I like to pick and choose my races. Also he doesnt believe in a four wheel launch with the turbo boost, and if he punches it from a stand still, he spins out. he claims.

His truck:

2005 Dodge 2500 Auto with 4.11's Quad Cab Short box 4X4, on stock tires.
5.9L HO Cummins (claims 350hp stock?)
Diablo tuner
and one other thing I think but not sure on what it is.
No exhaust or intake.
Already blew his tranny about 2 weeks ago, only had the chip for 1 month.

predicted RWHP 500. I highly doubt he is even close to 500hp
And I doubt he is at 450hp

My Truck:

2003 Ford F-350 Auto (torque shift) 4x4 Ext Cab, Long Box with 3.73's turning 37" tires
6.0L PSD
SCT with Looney Tunes (when I buy it)
4" T/B MBRP
Intake.

Predicted actual RWHP 400 ( realisticly?)

I may be out to lunch, and he might be running 500hp, but it seems like alot for a tuner.

He's overestimating big time. But even if he's only got a tuner, you'd still be at a disadavantage because he's got a 4:11 gear providing he's still on stock size wheel and tire. With your 3:73 gears the fact that you've gone to 37" tires won't help you with your gear either. If your adversary doesn't do a proper launch you might hang in though. Hard to tell. Good luck if you do try to give it a whirl... Keep us posted.

I think I will be doing my gears soon, changing to either a 4.10 or 4.56 I should wait till then.

also does anyone know if the 05 cummins was the new cummins 600 or do they still offer the 5.9 High output aswell as the 600?

The HO has 305 hp stock and 555ftlbs
the 600 has 325 hp Stock and 600ftbls

you will own him on stock tires. With your 37's im not sure. Imelmo ran 13.9s in 4x4 with a 6" lift on 37s in his 7.3 at about 450hp...

you should beat him all those numbers your talking about is at the flywheel tryeboys should be close with the rear wheel hp .... you should negotiate with the launch.... he has stock tire and 410 gears... you have 37's with 373 gears... it would only be right to let you 4wd boosted launch

even with the 3.73 you will take him in the top end and you might be able to take on the launch if he spins out when he launches. when you launch brake boost it. that truck in diesel power this month is running 3.56 with 37" tires and hes running 10s

I bet ya got him. And if he does not belive in the 4 wheel launch, does not mean you dont. Launch on him and if he sits there and spins...its his own fault.
