Took down an IROC

I was driving home tonight, and in my rearview mirror I saw some dumb*** in a black IROC-Z doing the "passing game", trying to get to the lead of our line of cars. We ended up first in line at a light, about 1/5 mile before the road goes from 2 lanes to 1. I knew he'd jump at the green, so I decided to try out the truck and see what the ole 7.3 had. I just got the truck a couple weeks ago and it's bone stock (until I get more money

)...

I figured I'd have some fun, so when the light turned I floored it. No boost, no 4x4, just stomped it. He had me off the line as my 7.3 lags (as most do from what I read here...) until we hit about 20-25. From there until 60, I went from about 1/2 length behind to 3 ahead and pulling. I backed off then at around 70, as we were coming up on some traffic.

He got a little ahead of me, but I just nosed up to the car behind me, and wouldn't let him over. 8000lb truck vs unibody Camaro...he dropped back when the lane ended. Is that a 2-for-1 kill??

The funniest part of all is at the next light a mile or 2 down it goes back to 2 lanes. We get to the light, and his buddy in the passenger seat is laughing hysterically at him, ribbing him about being beat by a loud smelly truck.

I just sat there smiling. Sometimes silence is better than words...

I let him go the 2nd time, as we were in a city and I didn't want a ticket or anything. But I'm proud of my SD!
