Another night at the track! (time slip! photo/video)

Irwindale Speedway last night. I spent most of the day practicing how to launch in an industrial location. Kept spinning, kept going sideways, hipity hop hop I felt like Peter Cotton tail hopping down the bunny trail, hippy hop hop Easter on it's way.... sorry, song got stuck in my head.

I never really practiced taking off because I spin so much and the dayum truck is so loud, I'd be begging for a ticket. In the quiet industrial area, I was pretty much able to do what I wanted.

After 20 or 30 tries, I finally realized that I need to e a s e the pedal down. NOT MASH IT. After another 15 or so tries, I realized that I need to be floored before the truck shifts out of first, otherwise it will go into second and then back into first then chirp out into second

Then, like magic, I figured it out! I start getting burried into the seat and I don't hear no EEEEEERRRRRRRTTTTTTT!

Went to the track, my first run was a 9.3 at 78mph. My best run was a 9.1 with very little spin at 75ish, next run was 11.88 at 86mph (spun a LOT). I posted a video to YouTube and will post it on here when YouTube approves it. Attached below is my photo of my best run.

I still say I can be in the mid-high 8's if I launch perfectly!

I'm not expert but have friends that race (Diesels) and I think from what they've talked about, if you get that launch down and improve that reaction time..... Oh lordy lookout!

I already purchased a set of WIDE rims, now I need to find me a nice set of used slicks and I know I can be in mid to low 8's.

The best part of going to Irwindale Speedway is when you see & hear people laugh when they see your huge pickemuptruck pull up to the light. They're used to ricers and mustangs and mini trucks. Then when you finish your run, and you have to pass the crowd, they either applaud & cheer or just look at you funny after you fry the rice or the Mustang.

In my 9.33 run I was beaten by a stage 2 Saleen (9.29), yellow & black with chip, pulleys, exhaust, intake & etc. The way he got off the car, I thought he was going to hit me. He high fived me and asked me what I did to my truck. "It's all stock, I swear. Other then taking off the muffler." You should have seen the look on his face, it was priceless.

Sounds good, but your reaction times is pretty good, Take that your truck is 2wd, and Its going to spin at least a little bit, But look into Detroit Locker that might help but big $$$ is involved.

RT is decent, I thought I could be in the 2s. I leave on the middle yellow light.

yes, I am 2wd.

And YES, RT has nothing to do with ET. The clock does not start until you move. At Irwindale Speedway anyway.

At any track.......you can sit there for 10 minutes...your ET will still be the same.
Keep playing with the launch...I can 2.0 60' my 2wd on 22's...high 1.70/low1.80 it on slicks
