my buddy just got a newer pontiac grand prix gtx or whatever. i believe its a supercharged v6. anyways, he's been wanting to race me, he gets beside me today at a stoplight and wants to race. i said ok, shifted into 4wd, spooled up and launched. i had him for 1 truck length from the go and he reeled me in quickly. when we got upto speed, i quickly noticed i didnt have alot of power. i then remembered i was in tow mode. so we stop by the store and he's laughing saying, "i thought your clunker was fast." i said, "it is." so anyways, i asked him if he'd like to run them again tomorrow after class. he agreed and told me he'd win again. but the catch is, i'll make sure im looney before the race.:burnout

i'll keep yall updated, do you think he'll stand a chance?

no i dont but the tow tune is basically just a transmission tune. so i know its atleast a 100hp difference.

I raced that kinda pontiact one time. Jumped out ahead of me off the line (2wd just mashed go pedal) and they were slowly pullin on me. I was kinda pissed... thought I was going to take it... then I found out what it had under the hood and then I wasn't soo embarrassed! LMFAO!

I dont know what he has but I had a 98 GTP supercharged 3800 V6 .. (stock will run anywhere from 14.8 to 15.4)

I had a Thrasher CAI, reprogramed pcm,and a smaller supercharger pulley went from a 3.8 putting out 7.5psi to a 3.4 putting out 11 psi just borderline of needing a intercooler, and it ran low low low14's and high 13's in the right temperature... dont under estimate those cars

A looney tuned 6.0 should walk all over it.

Mid to low 13's at 7800 lbs is about average nowadays.

In the 1/8th mile is where these big trucks shine so the gap off the line will be funny as that guys jaw hits the ground.

thats moving for the truck... but no one thinks these cars move.. i dusted many ricers and 5.0L mustangs with mine was the only fun gm car i ever had

Oh yeh it's fun to have a sleeper!!! I love driving around in my friends 3000GT Vr4 (twin turbo stock) with a few mods that should run high 12's low 13's. All these little fartbox mufflered civics, jetta's and acuras never knew what hit them! I didn't mean to make it sound like it was slow... it's just those 6.0's are friggin fast!
