Hemi for pinks!

I was at the dealership yesterday and one of the alignment techs had a hemi and was talking about he has never had a ford beat him, hes a 2 wheel drive 4dr 1500. I told him i would put 500 dollars on it and he said that he would race me for pinks, he is stock with nothing done accept he said that he had his computer reprogamed, he said no power adders. I have sct with a headstud only file,headstuds,4inch strait pipe and just put on some 275 open country's on a 06 fx4 cc shortbed. Im pretty sure that i will take his truck home, but id rather just put 5 g's on it what do you all think!

it will be an 1/8 mile race also

I'd go with the money, unless you absolutely knew what he has in the truck.

i wouldnt race for pinks....if he works at a dealer....odds are he knows what he has....cash would be my choice....

gotta agree. nobody's ever gonna throw out "let's run 'em for pinks" on a stock anything. He definitely knows something you don't. I'd be a little nervous with the 5g's unless you get some time to look over his truck. At least get on some hemi forums and try and see what those things are running. my .02

Go for the money. I dout that he is all stock. He wouldn't be so eger to run for pinks if he didn't have some trick.

Broken record here, but to eager! Go for the cash. Never raced trucks(on the track). But used to race cars and guys that were to willing to throw the pink up there know something that you don't (normally on the bottle on a gasser). Just my

If he said NO power adders and IF his is a stock 2wd CrewCab 1500 hemi... and yours is a 6.0 then take him for pinks. Your truck should run almost as fast as mine in the 1/4 and I eat up CrewCab hemi's all day. It's the regular cab hemi's that run 14.8-15.1.

Build the boost in 4wd and in the 1/8 mile you have a MAJOR advantage. You'll take him off the line and for 1/8th mile you'll stay ahead. You have the same HP to the wheels, and then then at least a 1/3 more torque + traction. It's gonna suck for him when you take his "hemi" home with you.
