08 6.4 vs 08 D-max

Raced my buddies D-max on Saturday. Closed course, professional drivers. Do not try at home.

Spartan 275 vs his edge evo-race. Trucks are similar, both CC SB 4x4. Other than his is lowered with aftermarket wheels and tires. Mine is Bone stock(besides the Spartan setup).

1st run, I launched 4Hi with 0 boost just rolling into the throttle. Jumped him 2 truck lengths, pulled him on bottom, then we balanced out around 80ish, then he started slowly creaping back on the big end. Race was over before he could get it back. Win.

2nd run, I stayed in 2wd, rolled on the throttle, pulled out about 1 truck, pulled him till 80ish, then he started slowly creaping up. Same story, he didn't have enough to come back and win.

3rd run, I romped his a$$ just for bragging rights. Launched it 4HI at 10 - 12psi, shot out there about 3 - 4 truck lengths and he couldn't get them back. Win.


The only thing I will say, he claims that he was only running on level 5. Says it will go up to level 7 but the tranny won't hold it. So....if he does end up upgrading the tranny.....I think I'm gonna need the 310!!!!

I would have tried to video it for you guys, but it wasn't planned. I just happened to run across him at the hardware store. Neither one of us had a passenger to video.

sweet...everyone tried to get me t buy a duracrap but i told everyone itd freaking break if i put a big tune on it..whereass my FORD loves the big tune!!!!

Nice kill, im still waiting to race my gf's brother's 2007, he just put on EFI Live and he said it dynoed at like 511 with 925 ft/lbs.

My thoughts, if you think he stands a chance, run him from a dead stop and launch it in 4hi boosted 10 - 15psi. My buddies Duramax was fast on the top end. I had the advantage bottom end.

He is going to need some tranny upgrades to keep up with you. 511 doesn't matter if you can't put it to the ground.

He's right about the D-max and the tranny won't hold, in fact I believe it will go into limp mode if the tranny is slipping to much .......either way nice kill

And if he launches in 4, he'll be sitting there with broken CV joints and you'll be a quarter-mile down the road.
