so the other day i was going hunting with my buddy and i had the polaris ranger hooked up to my truck, we were driving on some narrow roads and i was going slow because of the trailer. i see this monte carlo come flying up behind me and ride my *** for about a mile. i say, ok, we can play that game and i give him a little brake check, he backs off for a while but then we come up to a stop sign and a long straight away. we both turn and he lays into it trying to pass me, i said F*** no and hammered it, i hit fourth gear and was pulling away from him with a trailer in tow. as soon as i hit fith gear i hear sirens. my friend freaks out and reaches for the seat belt, i slam on brakes looking for blue lights and look over at this jerk fly by, he was a volunteer fire fighter and used his siren to get me to let off. i know that killing a monte carlo isnt a big deal but i thought it was kinda cool since i was in my stock tune and had a trailer.

U know what, I give all the respect in the world to the fire dep guys. But when when anybody uses their lights and siren just to go get their coffee and donuts. That pisses me off. I woulda cought up to the guy and cut him off.

I had a similar thing a few months ago. I was pulling an empty stock trailer on the 275 tune. An F250 in front of me had an exhaust and some stickers on his back window, had to be a 7.3 based on the shape of his head lights. He puffs smoke at me, and I didn't do anything. He does this a few more times, and on an empty strait away, I floor it. He does too. Not only do I pass him, I pretty much hand him his as s. I had to make sure I get far enough in front of him to let him know I just wooped him while pulling a trailer. It was night, and he had no way of knowing.. We did this a few times, and the same result. He was cool though. He gave a big thumbs up when we parted ways somewhere down the road.

So you're tooling along looking at the scenery, somebody decides to try and get around you and you floor it, and he's the A-hole?

If you were going slow because you wanted to keep and protect what's on your trailer, why would you let your ego take over and risk the rewards of getting your load home safely?

because i wasnt thinking at the time and now looking back it was kinda dumb, but most of the threads on Kill Stories do have something done in them that wasnt the smartest

I apologize. I shouldn't have been busting your balls.

I was in an accident and I now get a bit over reactive to folks doing silly things while pulling a trailer. I had been just tooling along on my cruise control minding my own business while towing a trailer and passed a guy while we were going up a hill on I-40. He was also pulling a trailer and his ego kicked in. He decided not to let me pass and clipped me while cutting me off trying to go around the car in front of him, causing a pile up.

I need to learn to count to 10 before I post a reply to something.

In hindsight, my ego probably played a role as well. I should have backed off and made sure he had plenty of room, but I really didn't think he'd try it, and I didn't want to lose momentum by tapping the brakes and turning off the cruise.

its all good your post made me a little angry at first but thinking about it made a lot of sense, and i have actually been in an accident with a trailer too. its all good about what you said because it was true
