I got killed

But it's OK. It was my car that won. I have a 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII (4.6, same engine as Cobra less the supercharger). I did the exhaust & put a 4.10 rear in it. I knew my MarkVIII is fast, but I didn't know how fast.

Worst part of this story is my wife was driving the Mark.

We're at a light, I ask my old lady to hit it once the light is green, and she laughed and said I was still a kid (like that's a bad thing?). To my suprise, she revs it.

We only raced up to 75ish. I was on the Mark's a$$ from the light. I might have passed her, but I was spinning for a while. I lost, but I was on her/my/our bumper.

What else can I do to my truck to make it faster? That is CHEAP!

Got 4wd? You said you spent some time spinning... if you are a 4wd, you can launch in 4-HI and spool the turbo a little before you take off... that will actually make a very large difference.

good try there on the race..yes you can spin them slicks in the rain and diesel are the worst for it also seeing they have all that torque,but on dry pavement slicks will sht and git

that is true. my buddy has some kuhmo tires that grip like crazy on asphalt and do well in rain on his lightning. im not sure of the size. they're on 20s.

I checked with my Ford dealer and if I lift it 8" it's going to void the warranty. So it's going to be a while before I lift and do tires. I need to learn that I can't just FLOOR it.

Also, I noticed something. During a burn out, only one wheel spins. I had the same problem with my MarkVIII and then I installed a locker and turned it into a posi and she just LAUNCHES when I punch it.

Can I do the same to the F250? Just install a posi? Get two wheels spinning at all times?

There's nothing like a one wheel wonder! You have quite a few options from limited slip to full out locker for your F250. The best bet is probably something like an Auburn limited slip. They perform better than the factory Ford units and will last longer. The downside is you are probably looking at $1,000 +/- to one installed unless you can do it yourself.

I can't imagine full 6.0 power going to only one wheel! Oh that poor poor tire!
