Harley 0 Ford 1
On the way home from work tonight. Caught at a red light behind two 18 wheelers side by side. Two harleys pull up behind me and are just raising all kinds of heck revving and all. Light changes and the truck in my lane is pulling ahead of the other rig. As soon as I have an opening, I am going to pass. Well Harley dude behind has the same idea, as he is riding my tail I mean I could only see his head in the rearview, he was CLOSE. So as not to cause an accident and hit him when he tries to dart like a moron I roll a small bit of smoke to back him off. I didn't want tp be responsible for this guy getting scraped up. So he backs off a lil and I pass the rig.
Next light, red catches me and the Harleys. My window is down and dude pulls up and is like WTF I said "buddy you were riding WAY too close to my tail and I didn;t want to hit you when I went for pass. It was eat a lil smoke or eat the back bumper of my truck. I guessed you preferred smoke to steel" His buddy starts cussing and is revving and laying over the handle bars like he's launching a drag bike. I click into 4hi, ease on the throttle and build about 15 lbs when the light dropped.... Needless to say, no more Harely beside me ![]() I LOVE my truck....

OK well while I have to agree with you, he should have not been that close and the smoke is better than asphalt. I have to say I would have been way passed pissed to have that smoke blown on me and my bike. But under the circumstance. I do have to ask though 600 lb bike with stock 80 hp should not have been beat off the line, not doubting you have a bad truck just power to weight ratio here is a little off. Course it is all in the driver too. Congrats man! |

I had pretty much the same situation happen to me a couple of months ago up in DFW. I was on 114 at the light going under 35w heading west when this guy on a harley pulls up. Well we start talking and he asks if I think I could take him. So we end up running and I can honestly say I was suprised because I was sure that I was going to get beaten but it was the exact opposite. I was in front of him till about 55mph when I had to shut er down.
Needless to say I was very happy with the end results.
