Truck got hit last night

I was at a party last night, and at one point i looked over at my truck and see about 3 or 4 people standing around it and a car that looked like it was a bit too close. I walked over to see what was going on. They were like "oh i don't think we hit it." So i asked them where the dent and white paint streak came from and the black mark on their car. They owned up to it then. Bastards trying to get out of it. I got the name and phone number of the owner of the car and a picture of the license plate. I told her i'll be getting estimates monday. Anything else i need to do? Should i file a police report?

It depends on the state. In Ca. at least, the repairs have to total $750 or more, to "require" a police report. The dent doesn't look "that" bad, but you never know.

I hope you get it all sorted out nice and easy. Sucks that they were trying to scam out of it.

Yep call the Cops and file a report. Both times my truck was broken into I filed a report even though I never filed a claim. The report won't take long.
