I KILLED the sho taurus!!!
allright, so I finally convinced him to race....I told him all you guys on here said in the bench racing forum I would lose...and that got his confidence up. so we line em up on a back road, and I held the break in, and was on the go pedal, and the tires were smokin...a buddy told me if you get your tires hot and sticky they grip better. I dont know...anyway his bro gets out of the car, and starts yelling, ONE!.....(I back out of the go pedal so my tires stop spinning)...TWO!....THREE!.....GO!!!! I hammer down an look over, and I dont see anything!...http://www.powerstroke.org/forum/ima...lies/dunno.gif so I look in the mirror...http://www.powerstrokeforum.com/foru...ons/icon10.gif I think my boost launch is what saved me, cause I was 2 car lenghs ahead of him till about 40 and then he started pulling on me fast. I saw 60mph, looked over an I was only about 5ft ahead. YES!!!http://www.powerstrokeforum.com/foru...ons/icon10.gif The poor guy gotta feel sorry for him cause ever since he's been walking around looking like thishttp://www.powerstroke.org/forum/images/smilies/tard.gif

It dont sound like you did to much of a boosted launch because you were in 2 wheel drive. Nice kill tho

oh...I didnt know you had to be in 4 wheel to do a boost launch. well, ok guys it wasnt a boost launch then, just a normal haulin butt takeoffhttp://www.powerstroke.org/forum/images/smilies/thumb%5B1%5D.gif

You can in 2wd but the tires spin at like 5psi and will spin easy when you launch. In 4x4 you can boost to 15psi or more and when you launch hold on cause it hooks up completely and hauls. try it... it feels amazing. Boost until the truck just starts pushing through the brakes and then let off the brake and mash it.

ok, so do you just turn your 4x4 switch in the truck, or do you have to get out, and turn the hub locks too? sorry I know its a stupid questionhttp://www.powerstroke.org/forum/images/smilies/smiley_crazy.gif

Turn the hubs also. I dont think its needed but im not positive. I drive an OBS so I have to. Just do it how you would normally shift into 4hi

4hi and lock your hubs or it will not work!

i do boosted launches and i dont lock my hubs... seems to work fine for me...

The newer trucks run vaccum through the hubs so they lock themselves. Works good while it works. When it doesn't no 4x4.
