if it has a quadzilla adrenalin tuner, its a 165hp and 420ft pound gain chip, but hes not going to be able to put it to the ground through the stock trans. the vp44 pump is a good pump, its the lift pump that goes out and drops pressure to the vp and sucks in air and burns up the pump. but the cumstom sct tunes do make the 6.0s haul a##

Adrenaline 98-02 Dodge 5.9 Cummins It will make those gains....with supporting modifications. It will still make good power with just the chip. His issue will be fueling. The VP44 is a crummy pump. I mean...look at my truck. I was told with the Smarty alone I would not make 500HP. This dyno is with Stock turbo, Upgraded Fuel system and Smarty HOT... With just the Smarty I gained 230 HP and tons of torque. But I was maxing out the turbo at 39# and out of fuel (stock sticks and CP3 pump). His downfall will be fuel.... Its not quite that but a few guys proved with a the dyno that just adding the Quad w/Adrenaline, intake, exhaust, takes the Vp44 trucks from 225hp to about 375hp. The VP44 is a good pump, its the factory lift pump that kills it.

If he has an airdog or some other aftermarket lift pump then his fueling wont really be an issue. If he really does only have the adrenaline and straight pipe then it will be close with you running stock but if you get the SCT it wont be even close. His main problem will be getting his power to the ground. If he has the stock transmission and has the adrenaline on one of the higher tunes that thing is going to blow.

my buddys dad has an 03 common rail cummins SO 250hp, 550 torque, and my truck stock with 250,000 miles would run circles around it. towing and everything. he wants to put a chip in it but hes afraid cause the trannies acting up already, it doesnt have 100,000 miles. is your buddy running the adrenaline or a different quad chip with a 65 horse tune?
