ev pyrometer problems
Hey there, got my 3 gauge Isspro kit from Diesel Manor installed this past weekend. The pyrometer was fine for the first 2 days, but is now acting crazy.
Sometime it acts fine, but other times when I start my truck, the needle stays at zero, but if I rev my engine a little, it sweeps all the way to 1500, and slowly creeps back down to around 300 ish, and than acts normal. Other times, it will just sporadically drop to zero, and then back up to operating temperature. I have the weather pack connection at the probe end, and I checked all of my connections (ignition 12 volt, ground) and they are fine. I am disappointed, as I have only had these gauges in for 4 days, and am already having issues.... Last edited by -Nathan-; 03-08-2011 at 08:49 PM. |

I'd call diesel manor and tell them about your issues and they might send you a new one.

well, Dieselmanor is getting a new amp box sent to me, hope that fixes it. Still curious to see what Isspro has to say, and if he thinks its the box

It sounds like either a failure in the amplifier box, or a bad connection between the box and the gauge head. Did you check for loose connections on the back of the gauge? Here is a full set of troubleshooting instructions for this product:
http://www.isspro.com/TROUBLESHOOTIN...leshooting.pdf We tend to push the EV2 series these days, as it offers a number of benefits over the EV series (including no amplifier box and built here in Portland). I know it doesn't do much good for someone who already purchased EV series gauges, but some info for anyone else reading it. Either way, we will make sure you are taken care of! Alright sounds good. hopefully when my new amp box arrives and get installed, my problems will disappear.
Thanks, and good to know some people are still committed to customer service. |

Howdy, just an update on this, and another problem. I actually added an additional ground to my pyro amp box, and the problem stopped, any reason why?
I am running 3 gauges, boost, pyro, and water temp. My water temp worked perfectly for 4 months, but is now acting up. It will sweep back and forth plus or minus 50 degrees. Sometimes it works fine, and other times it sweeps back and forth, all while driving. What might be the problem? and how can this be remedied? Thanks |
