Bettering the Ford OEM white guage match??

I currently have 3 of the EV2 white faced gauges. I have the white factory gauge package in my truck which is below. Your gauges match very well, but is it possible to take the unit apart and paint the pointer center hub black so they match closer? Not worried about messing them up being full sweep electric as we've done this before on Autometer gauges for custom hot rod work. Just not sure on yours. Worse case, I'd have to buy a new gauge.

Also - what would happen to the illumination of the center dial as it does turn black when lit as is?

Sorry, I missed this post before. The bezel of the gauge is crimped on, so there is no good way of disassembling without having a replacement bezel and the crimping dies to reassemble. We do have a pointer that looks very similar to that (used on the late model GM gauges), if you will send your gauges back here, I can have them changed over to that pointer at no charge. Michael - This has been a while but I'm getting back around to this project. Above, I wanted to match as best as I could a set of EV2's to the factory gauges in my F250. I've seen the late GM pointer with black and orange/red hand. Does the hand glow when lights are on? I assume it does but wanted to ask.

Now for the next question. Can a costume one-off set be made to match my face dials exactly? With the outlined silver letters that glow green with lights on? I'll be buying a new complete set and new pillar arm from Diesel Manor soon.
