Former GM/gas guy. Hallelujah! I have seeeen the light! And the light is good!
I just purchased a 2006 F250 PSD, and I want to kick myself for waiting so long. I was getting 8 to 10 MPG on my 2500 GMC (gas) and now I'm averaging 17 and I am still on my first tank of gas..... er... diesel!
Needless to say I am in love with my new Ford. Dark gray metalic, light gray leather interior w/sunroof (lariat). What kind of gas mileage can I expect? What can I do to maximize the mileage (mods)? Not really interested in more power, I just wrecked/totaled my GMC so I am a little gun shy of speed (for now). |

WELCOME TONY!!!!
I'm not real knowledgable about the 6.0's but hopefully someone will be along very soon to give you an idea of mileage. So where abouts are you from??? |

Congrats on the New Rig![]() Welcome To Powerstroke.org Glad to have ya here... glad you love your Ford. Couple of things to think about.. fill out your signature... put in what your vehicle is.. your mods, etc.. it will be very helpful should you have a tech question at any time in the future. Also.. would be great to know where your are located (general idea is enough, we don't have to know your address ) and it would be cool if you put a placemark for yourself on the Member Map.Once again.. Congrats and Welcome. |

for better milege i would suggest a high flow filter or intake and an exhaust ... the least amount of restriction the better for milage... plus youll get a lil more hp from it too... i know i tried the tornado on my truck before all the mods and got around 2-3miles more per gallon.....congrats on the new ford.....

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() To POWERSTROKE.ORG ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The intakes on the 6ers are pretty well made and flow a good bit of air, even compared to many of the after market intakes. So, you can leave that alone until you really get the power bug. The Feb. ROTM(Rig of the Month) contest is for stock trucks, and the prize is an AFE Stg 2 intake, so if you won that, it could get ya started. The best way to get the most out of your truck, is to change the fluids and filters like clock work, and drive like you have some sense. Now, that is easier said than done once you start putting the power to the trucks, its just too much darn fun! But, a more open exhaust may help, or things like a bed cover have been known to help the ol MPGs. Once again, welcome to the ORG, and have fun. |
