New Guy From Michigan

Hey all, I'd just like to introduce myself. You can call me Rem. I'm from Michigan (born and raised). I'm brand new to the diesel scene. I've been a Ford guy all my life and have finally decided on buying a Powerstroke. I'm looking for a 6.0L to trick out cause I'm sick of this little 6 cylinder Ranger that I got stuck with. It's got no balls! Anyways I'm glad to be a part of a Ford community. Any comments on which year 6.0L to go with would be greatly appreciated. I want the most durable engine(also want it to sound like a jet when I'm done with planned mods). Thanks, Rem.

Welcome REM!
On the 6.0 question, be afraid of the later 03 models and the early 04s. If you can fine a late 04, 05 or 06 then you'll be okay. If you want to go back to the 03 or 04, just make sure you get one with over 60k miles on it and have Marc or Rodslinger get you an Oasis report by VIN number and see if it has spent any time in the shop for the reasons the 03s were made famous for...injector failure, turbo failure, egr issues HPOP seals leaking...and the list goes on. If it has few miles on it, it's likely these proplems haven't emerged yet and there would be no history to look up on Oasis.
I have an 03 and have not had ANY of these issues and i got 62k miles on her so I'm not worried much anymore.

Hey BigCountry thanks for the welcome. I'm from the Ann Arbor area of Michigan. Used to call Marquette home but now I'm back down here.
