Howdy from Laurel Montana

Just purchased a 03 7.3 dully. Already got stuck in snow 3 times. Those 4 wheels don't like snow. Had an 02 Cheve 8.1 but I sure like this 100 0/0 more. It actually can pull. I pull a 34 ft. fifth wheel and the cheve 8.1 high end torque and 4-5K rpm going up mountains really was loud. Hope I have better luck with the Ford. Want to purchase a superchip just to use with the tow mode but everyone says change exhaust and get guages. Hoping to just use the tow mode for the pulling-not the speed. Thanks Barnyard

---I think you will find a big difference, and as far as guages go, any tuner will increas the EGTs going up a hill. The gauges are to protect your investment in the truck, Too much heat can cause big problems. At the very least you should have a EGT and a Trans temp guage. the trans is the major week point in these trucks. For the extra money, it is worth investing in a chip like the DP or the Ts, they also addresse the line pressure, and shift points in the trans, as well as tc lockup, this goes a long way towards makeing your truck last longer. And once you do that----YOUR HOOKED---- you will want more-and more hahaha welcome to the Dark Side ---Hope that helps out some.

---Gord.

Welcome to the Forum, Baryard!

Glad you're not having to suffer at the hands of a Chevy any more. You will never go back!
