Hello from NJ

Hey everyone, my name is Matthew and I've been looking to purchase a diesel for a while now, the problem was that I was a poor college student and could barely afford to keep my old S10 running! Now that I've graduated the cash flows a little more freely now so I'm in the market for a '98 or later F-250 with a 7.3L. I was never a Ford guy growing up (Dad is a die-hard GM fanatic) but I was sold on the F-250 Super Duty the first time I drove one. I worked at an ice rink through college as a maintenance guy/zamboni driver and we had an '04 Super Duty that we used as a plow truck and for hauling stuff back and forth from the rink. It was a gasser but I was really impressed at what a solid truck it was and how nice it was inside.

The other reason I'm looking for a diesel is because I've found a reliable source of quality biodiesel (at cost), so I look forward to sharing my experiences of running (hopefully) B100 over a long period of time. So, anyone have a '98 - '03, Super Cab, 4x4, 7.3L, Lariat they want to get rid of in the next two or three months?

Yeah, it was/is a cool job. I still work at a prep school near my house on the weekends for side cash (truck payment money) and its always kinda neat to be able say that I'm a Zamboni driver...

Tell me where they're all hiding! Judging by monthly payment I could handle plus what I should have for a down payment by February I figure I can afford as much as a $20K truck. It seems that in just looking around I find either trucks that are on the newer side ('02-'03) with really low miles that are about $5-7K more than I have to spend, or they're on the cheap side with high miles and no options.

On another note, I see there's one NJ person here, are there many others? I'm sure a lot of you don't think of NJ as diesel truck country (besides the ones on the Turnpike ) but we are! I live in South Jersey just north of the Pine Barrens which for those of you who don't know is the largest unspoiled wilderness area on the eastern seaboard between Boston and Washington D.C. Of course you guys seem like a pretty friendly crowd considering I haven't gotten a "What Exit?" joke yet!
