starting problem
Hi, I am new here. I have a 95 7.3, the truck starts fine as long as I have it pluged in or it has run for awhile. But if it sits for 4 to 5 hours without being pluged in it is hard to start. Have tested glow plug relay and it is fine. I did notice though as I was testing, there was smoke comeing from the under side of the rear wireing harness on the passenger side valve cover gasket. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you halter413

Welcome, Halter!
You may need new Valve Cover Gaskets. The injector and glow plug harness is inside these gaskets. You might have a short in the pass side. |

On a 95 model it wouldn't be out of the question to have some burned out glow plugs. If you tested the relay and its good, i would replace the glow plugs.
