7.3L issue when driving

Hey, I'm new to this forum and figured this is the best place to get quality Powerstroke information. I have an 01 F-250 7.3L Powerstroke and recently when driving it around 55-60 it randomly putters and the rpms fall. A few times the engine has stalled then quickly starts again. I replaced the fuel filter with my last oil change a week ago and the issue continues. Any advice/ideas?

Replace the cps (cam position sensor) with a oem one. Keep the old one just incase it's still good. If it fixes it chuck the old one and buy another an toss it in the glove box. They should be only $20-30
