finally got a powerstroke!

just picked up a '96 f-250 7.3. I'm replacing all the springs in the morning( Completely shot) but noticed if i hit a good sized bump motor dies but if i flick to tank 2 and back it fired up again. it's happened a couple times now. old owner just replaced both tanks and hoses look good. I don't think its sucking air. Any ideas?
