New to site and diesel

Hello everyone,
Alan (Rodslinger) and I work for the same company and he turned me on to the site when I was visiting Houston a couple weeks ago. He told me I'd be impressed and I have been. I've had my truck for not quite a year now and absolutely love it. Long-time Ford fan, but my first diesel. In 96 when I was in the Navy, I drove a commuter van with a PowerStroke, but I don't really think that counts... My current rig is a 2005 F250 Crew Cab with FX4. While I've added nerf bars and my Sirius unit, I've not modded anything yet because I'm still under warranty (~35k). After the new year though... By the way, thanks for the great tips. My truck has been acting up and won't start after it gets hot. Unfortunately, the dealership wasn't helpful, but thanks to this site, I've got a bunch of info to help them pinpoint the problem. Goes in the shop tomorrow so I'll let ya know! Thanks again!

Welcome to the forum man!!! If you havnt got it figured out already your hot start problem is a more than likely small leak in the high pressure oil system....probably the quick connect at the HPOP or one of the o rings that seal the tops of the injectors to the rails!!! Let us know if we can be of any more help man!!!

Welcome to the site bro, Im still new here too but all the guys on here are extremely helpful. Just a suggestion...before you buy anything for your rig, run it by the forum, there might be something you have overlooked.

Thanks, guys. Marc, I've been reading your posts re: codes and no start after hot soak and those are what I'll be sharing with the dealership. Alan, I've got two quads: one for the wife (Can Am 250) and one for me (Polaris Predator 500). Lots of desert and dry riverbeds to choose from here... Trux, appreciate the insight and there's much to be learned before spending the $$$ for mod's.

Very cool! I've got a Kawasaki Prairie 700 and a Bayou 220 - I can go out my back gate at home and ride for miles and miles. We used to ride nearly every weekend but it seems like all I've done lately is just use 'em for working the ranch.
