New to diesels new to the site

I'm jay from Kansas City just wanted to say hi. I just got a 03 excursion 6.0 lifted setting on 37's. Mostly stock , does have a superchips tuner on economy mode. Only has 158 k on the clock. I' m sure I will have a million questions, I have spent the last 4 weeks reading all I can. Know I'm to the point I need to start going through the truck.

WELCOME to the site! Very 1st thing IMO is you gotta get a monitor for the truck. Then let the monitor guide you were to get started. I run the Edge cts.

Thanks , I' loll check out the edge. What about a coolant filter I was thinking about starting with that then switching to elc and flushing the system.

Coolant filter is needed as well for sure. The monitor will show you what you have going on with the truck. The dash gauges are worthless. We can have all sorts of costly issues going on and the truck cannot communicate with you.
If your coolant/oil delta's are good you may want to think twice about doing a flush. You can stir up trash and clog up the cooler yourself.

Ok cool , but I thought on these trucks you had to flush them once a year? NTB will flush the system with a cleaner. For around a 100 bucks is that not enough to clean out the build up in the system? I really don't want to cause more problems, just want to get the truck in the best condition to be reliable. Thanks for your advice.

Is the edge the one to get? I have been reading about everything but the monitors, I thought I needed to go through the basics first. Seems like it is a must have.
