My Intro
Just stopping by to introduce myself .I'm still new to diesels so bare with me if I ask something that might sound dumb to the seasoned vets. I have a 05 f250 psd & have had almost all the common problems.I love & hate the truck @ the same time. I love it when its running good & I hate it when its running like crap.I hate giving up on things so I'm hoping I can get some input on my truck so I can get her running right.Any advice on where to get started . Thanks in advance

Mostly,IMO runs too hot only when towing my toyhauler (26 ft weekend warrior) .After a few hrs or so in tow I notice my fan comes on often or even stays on for an extended period of time & loss of power.Similar symptoms to what I've had in the past. countless egr valves gone bad .like 6 in a 3 month span ,hose clamp to turbo broke, 3 turboes, bed plate gasket leak, degas bottle& hoses. These problems in the past I was running completly stock. Now I have RBP catback w RBP tuner. The truck seems to run a little better, but I'm still concerned about my temps.By the way I dont drive it real hard, just enough to get her over the hills(if that makes sense).Usually set no higher than #4

welcome. you'll find a lot of helpful and great people on this org. what size gears you running? your tires are giving the truck a lot of strain if you have small gears. plus your toy hauler must weigh in the 10k pd range loaded.

i think its time for you to consider deleting that EGR.. and taking off that (crapy) RBP tuner and going with a custom tuned SCT... which is the only way to go on the 6.0L...
also didnt notice you said you have any gauges.. this is def a must even when running stock... you need pyro, trans temp, and boost... removing that EGR will take care of a bunch of problems... let me know if you need any more info bud and im out here in the san fernando valley.. make sure to check out our local socal forum... I'm sure if I changed the gears it would help some or maybe alot ,but what about gas mileage? My buddy has same truck runs 37's & same weight trailer & has none of the issues I've had.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Raul has you on the right track............. I would like to stress the need for gauges (especially running tuned) and ditch the cat too, it'll open up the exhaust a lot and lower EGT's |
