Greetings

Daughter purchased a 2005 F-350 Lariat Crew 6.0L with 144k on it. Very clean and well maintained but going into Limp mode when hauling a heavy trailer. Dealer replaced the EGR and inlet hose to the turbo but am still having the same problem. P0299 code, wrench light and CEL on (now off but code is still there). Only seems to be a problem when pulling a large trailer.

Thanks. Although the truck has an old Bully Dog Outlook, it wasn't working when we bought the truck. Looked at the wiring today and found a loose connection. But, I don't see any options to measure either temp - only temp measurement is EGT and intake temp. No manual, so I'm making an assumption I'm hitting the correct buttons.

I did a quick google of the Bully Dog Outlook-Bully Dog Outlook Vehicle Monitor
I don't see were it sais that it can monitor the oil/coolant temp....bummer! But I did see were it says that it de fuels on high egt's....so that kinda makes me wonder if it might be messing with you on that.
Long story short is that you are gonna need some type of a monitor. Well ok you already have some type of monitor so lets say a better monitor. Check out the scanguage II or possibly the Edge cts. Their is even some that work on your phone. But you gotta get a monitor. Without it the truck cannot talk with you. Right now it is possible that tour oil cooler is clogged cause super high oil temps sending the truck into defuel. Well when that cooler blows its gonna get ugly starting with the tow bill. The monitor can be spendy but they will pay you back.
Maybe someone else has more knowledge on your Bully dog so what you might try is opening up another thread about it. Im gonna guess your gonna be told to bury it in your yard and never speak of it again....

I got my shovel ready. l was looking at the Edge CS and CTS but the DashBoss is intriguing. I know we need something better than the BD. But I'm also stuck trying to figure out if the prior owner 'tuned' the truck with the BD.
