New guy from the SO ILL

Hey all,
I'm Jacob from southern Illinois. I know I have a strange screen name but its a long story and I've had it for a long time so I'm just going with it

. I am a suspension and chassis JUNKIE. I've been cutting coils and frames on everything from Honda's to Peterbilts for a long long time now. I have been working as a body and frame man mostly on semi trucks for the last seven or eight years. Last year I left the shop and headed back to school to pursue a mechanical engineering degree and took a job at Advanced Auto Parts. Wow has that been an experience. Anyway I'm ready to move on from lowered trucks to lifted truck and want to pick every ones brain about lifted suspension. So in advance please excuse all the newb questions but I hope to learn a lot and make some new friends.

First question; what does obs stand for?

OBS = Old Body Style, it refers to the 97' and earlier trucks (pre - superduty).

Whats up neighbor thanks for the info. I just got an acceptance letter from University or Alaska, Fairbanks last week as a transfer student so I'm possibly moving up there in the fall. I guess I'll have to buy a heavier jacket though since it going to be like 45 or 50 here tomorrow and -15 there.

I knew it was the older chassis but I couldn't figure out for the life of me what the hell it stood for.
