Hello my names Jason from Racin Repair.
Just bought an 06 F350 CCR SRW Amarillo Edition.

Was wondering how much better the 06 6.0 is compared to the first couple years. I havent heard anything good about the 03 & 04's. Was thinking about some mods but I dont want to kill this thing. Would like it to come out of the hole better and maybe some improved mileage.

Any info or direction on where to look for feedback on the newer 6.0's would be appreciated.

The 04.5 amd newer motors have been pretty solid as long as you dont go hog wild overboard. You might want to get in touch with Rodslinger (alan is his name) who is one of the other admins here. Hes got an 05 chipped pretty big and aslo running a water/meth setup.....there are many other guys on here with modded 6.0's that have had no problems. Dont overboost is the big thing....keep it under 30psi if you want to play it real safe and dont go over 32-34psi if you want to push it a little more. The biggest risk is streatching the headbolts causing a gasket failure......

Yeah I dont wanna goes balls out. I just want it to compare somewhat to my 77 F350. I have a 528 stroker in it with a 100 shot. On the motor is made 482 horse and 597 torque and on the juice it did 579 horse and 707 torque.

Stock the 6.0 just feels slow out of the hole, id like to have a little fun. No propane or NOS plans for it. Just thinking Edge programmer, exhaust and air intake. Hopefully be able to spin the tires easily and getter better mileage when driving nice.

Nice having you here. As Marc said ask some questions and check some old threads to see what problems and mods have come up. Good luck they scream with just two or three mods the ones you mentioned.
