another new guy

Just bought my 04 f350 yesterday. All stock and looks all original with 243k on it. First plans are egr delete, head gaskets and studs. Then the basic upgrades. Not really looking for big numbers. I'll mostly lurk around the forums for a while.

I just joined up after buying a 2000 F250 4x4 CrewCab with manual transmission. 117,000 miles. Pretty sharp. Already I've got problems with the emergency brake not holding, radiator has a leak and needs replacing, clutch position switch going bad, and a few cosmetic issues inside. I want to fix everything and delete the muffler. I might consider a chip but this is a daily driver and I average about 250 miles a day. About half of those are highway the rest are on county roads in the oilfield.

Well my truck is already sitting at my buddy's shop. The RF axle wasnt unlocked while in the free position. Last year the hub was replaced and wasn't installed correctly, most likely the spindle and hub will need replaced. Also the turbo needs rebuilt.

As long as the turbo dosnt need a major over haul they can be pretty easy to clean up. And a lot of times that's all that is needed. Check the videos out on you tube.

I was told the rebuild kit is about 60 bucks. So far that seems like the cheapest part of this visit.
