Coming to the stroked side

Here we go guys. Im 100% virgin here. Ive never owned a ford. Ive never owned a diesel. I was born a chevy man Lost interest when they changed body styles in 99. From that point i went to Dodge. stayed there till I got a DIVORCE and found myself drive an 04 gmc SonOMa Got married again to my now loving child birthing wife We bounced around to different kinds of vehicles. So I let her get what she wants and 3 yrs ago I went and got what I wanted a good ole trail cutting, mud slinging, top down if I wanna jeep wrangler LJ ABSOLUTELY love this little thing. My problem is this however. I am getting tired of the smallness of the LJ and I usully find myself needing a truck at times PLUS now this is the big one .................My NEW JOB is going to be kinda a travel job. SO we acquired a travel trailer. A 02 Terry bumper pull 35' long and roughly 8000LBS of road side love. NOW with that said I made the MISTAKE of going to my local ford dealer who happen to have an 06 lariat F250 diesel for an ok price of $17000 with 160,000 miles. I got behind the wheel took it for the test drive and would have taken it home if they would have bargained with me a little better. SORRY fellas but $12750 for a $18000 Jeep aint gonna cut this cheese. All they had to do was make it to 13k and would have had a deal. EVEN told the sales manager that.
Well since then all I can do is think about these damn trucks. The power, torque, SOUND, are just too overwhelming. YES I HAVE DIESEL ENVY
Guys i know this is the introductions section . SO now Ill introduce myself. My name is Corey I reside in Wichita Falls Texas. I will hopefully pride myself as a Powerstroke owner in the next few days.

Glad to have you Corey - to the ORG!!

If you don't mind reading, go up to the top nav bar, click on "Forums" and scroll down to the various engine and year models to take a look at what's out there.

There is a Texas Chapter you could look into:

Well i got my girl BLEW. shes a 2005 F250 model Lariat edition, colored in wedgewood blue, 4x4, SB, crew cab. Shes equipped with a B&W gooseneck hitch. a 12.5k trailer package, ESOF axle, upfitter switches and 172000 miles. I received the oasis report, full break down of her cleanings and oil changings as well as original windowsticker, owners manual and original card for the keypad door lock. She was even bought, serviced, traded in and sold again all by the same dealership. According the Oasis report shes already been through the BIG 3 problems with the egr valve and all that junk. So far im really happy. Like i told a buddy of mine earlier today. Hes a major chevy dude. I said Ive been a chevy guy most of my life. Only been in a ford 3 times that I can ever remember, and drove only 2. The first i drove for 30 mins doing a test drive 2 weeks ago and then this one which I drove my jeep wrangler soft top 6 speed on 33" mud tires and a 4" lift through the lower portion of the palo duro canyon and up and across the west texas plains with the head wind blowing 45mph. It turned a 3 hr trip into 4-1/2 hrs. walked into the dealership and in 30 mins I was driving my 1ST EVER (ONE OWNER) FORD. I then said that has to mean something coming from a chevy guy myself turned ford lover practically overnight. He didnt say anything but "she sure is a pretty FORD blue".

congrats on catching the bug. I was a chevy guy my whole life too but this truck has won me over. I love the way this thing drives.
there is SO much information on this forum regarding how to stabilize these trucks it is amazing. my build is a reflection of what i have learned here and hopefully only a little of what i have yet to learn.
