ok so my 4x4 isnt locking in at all and i dont know what to do...is there a fuse for 4x4 or what do i need to do?

Is it that 4x4 isn't coming in or your hubs aren't locking? I'm assuming you have electroic shift on the fly (ESOF). Is the dash light coming on? Have you tried 4 Low?

Check your vaccum lines to the hubs. There might be a leak.

Without knowing exactly what you've tried, the sympoms, and your truck's configuration, it's going to be hard to diagnose your problem.

do you have manual hubs? or autos?

i have auto hubs..the light isnt comin on when i try to put it in 4low, i put it in N and then turn it to 4low and NOTHIN happens

have someone turn the knob while you climb underneath and tap on the shift motor on the transfercase with someothing hard. If it locks in while your tapping on the motor, replace the shift motor. Thats probably what you have going on. it could be a switch or wiring as well though, so dont just start replacing parts

Check the actuator on the Transfer Case. It might have come loose. Also...check all of your fuses under the dash, (behind the panel under the steering column). Also, try shifting into 4wd with the truck in park.

Also when i try these things do i have to have the truck started or can i just turn the key over? maybe a dumb question but didnt know..

key just needs to be "on"...truck doesnt need to be started

ok..so im looking at the truck as we speak..we got out one night and turned the hubs just incase...and you can turn it one way and it clicks like it locks or i can turn it the other way and it dont click which should both be on..
