Buying my 1st Ford next week. 2007 f250 cc sb fx4 lariat with 60k on her for $20k. Never owned a diesel or a Ford but have always wanted one and finally found one I can afford. The truck is pristine as it has been garaged kept with no mods besides tint. Any recommendations where to start?

Do you have any way to hook it up too a monitoring device? How much do you know about the 6.0L?

Pretty much that they have a bad rep for blown heads. Other than that completely new to diesel.

Ok. Do you happen to have a way to hook up a monitoring device to it? It would be nice to know how healthy the FICM (Fuel Injection Control Module) is. Along with your deltas (the degree difference between your EOT & ECT (Engine Oil Temp & Engine Coolant Temp). That way you know if your oil cooler is clogged or not.

A few things I would do after that would be to get rid of the Ford gold coolant. Put in a EC-1 rated coolant along with a coolant filter. A egr delete would be nice also.

There is a 6.0L section. Go there and read up. If you got any questions start a new thread and ask away. You will get all the help you need with it.

Oooo. I hope your ready to open your pocket book. When the go fast goodies start, it's hard to stop.

^Couldnt have said it better!

Sometimes u will want to role your 6.0 off a cliff but most of the time you will be bragging about it, showing it off, and making an endless list of mods and upgrades and to-dos... Its pretty addictive! If you read up on here about how to service and take care of it correctly it will last you a lifetime.
