diesel noob in the market

hey im sam. im a 20 year old guy, and have just recently started looking for a new truck, due to my jeep xj being totaled by a semi. i am leaning towards a 7.3 still looking into the years that fit into my budget. i joined the forum to read up and learn the ups and downs the do's and dont's of diesel. ive been raised ford, and jeep my whole life.

Can't go wrong with a 7.3

Sam, you can't hardly go wrong with a good 'ole 7.3. If you go this route, try to get a 19991/2-2000 with the forged steel connecting rods. Then if you want to add power, these rods will hold up within reason.
