new to the world of diesel

This whole world of diesel is brand new to me. Never owned a diesel before. Never driven a diesel before.

So, when I was looking for a new truck when the Yukon was about dead I landed an '08 F-350 superduty. It's got a 6" lift and 35" Toyo tires on it. I suspect the past owner had some kind of mods on it. But I really don't know what or where to start looking. He had/has an auto start system on it. (no fob for it . ) The muffler dropped a couple of days after getting it home. Ford dealer was nice enough to put it back on. So maybe a DPF delete???? A friend thinks he Probably had a mod cold air intake too. The stock one looked like it had been replaced. There are other things too.

So here I sit needing better fuel economy. currently getting 10-11 mpg. The speed and power seem great.

REading the sticky at the start of the forum on 6.4 and some talk with a friend I'm looking at a new cold air intake, ERG delete, and a tuner. (currently looking at SCT Livewire TS)

Any thoughts or advise would be greatly appreciated.

is the dpf already deleted? if not, do you plan on leaving it on? and that will give you a better idea of what tuner to get.
do an egr delete, cold air not really needed. but everyone has their own preference

Definitely figure out exactly what's been done to the truck before you buy any speed parts, will save you some headaches and maybe money in the long run!
