Red face New guy from Nebraska! On the hunt for my first diesel truck.

Hey guys! Checking in from Omaha, Nebraska. I'm currently on the hunt for a 99-03 7.3L and I thought I'd joina couple forums to see what everyone is saying about them. From what I've gathered, the 7.3L is a very reliable power plant. I'm new to diesel trucks, but I'm not new to diesels. For the past 7 years my daily has been a little 1.9L Jetta TDI. Super dependable and awesome mileage. I've personally driven it 120k miles and wouldn't think twice about getting in it right now and driving it across the country. So when I started looking for diesel trucks I was open to all makes/models, just wanted to find something that was super reliable like my Jetta AND was in my price range. That's how I decided on a 99-03 7.3L. I've been keeping my eye out for one that was well maintained with no rust and I might have found one. Gonna go look at a 2000 F250 Crew Cab 4x4 short box with 202,000 miles on it next week. From everything I've gathered from the owned the truck had been pretty well taken care of. Had him send me a bunch of pictures since I'm 4 hours away and it looks like exactly what I'm looking for. I'm having a buddy of mine run a Carfax report on it today and if that goes well I'll be going for a test drive this coming week.

Well, that's my intro. I hope to be getting a lot of knowledge from you guys in the near future. I'll post a update on whether I get the truck or not.
