Smile Hello, from Northern California

Well, I am a new person to the forums, so its nice to be here. Anyhow, I have come here to learn all that I can about Fords, paticularly diesel ones.

I am interested in buying a diesel powered Ford come 2015. I know, its a long way off, but, I want to do all the research possible, learn all that I can, and of course, save money.

So, I am asking for your help here, in what to look out for, what to buy, everything that can help me in the long run.

The wife and I... are looking for a four door vehicle, either the Excursion, or F-250 and on up. But, I want to know the ins and outs of each year, engine type, and the like, so I know what to buy, and what not to buy. I guess this is all I can say so far, so, I look forward to all the help you all can offer. Thanks.

Glad to have you - to the ORG!!

A lot is going to depend on how new you want to go. If you want an Excursion, the last year model for those was 2005. You can find information here on the 99-03 Excursions in the 99-03 7.3L Forums. Excursions have a sub-forum in there. On the later ones, check here: 03-07 6.0L Forums
There are sections for the whole spectrum of trucks. In the top nav bar, click on Forums and scroll down to the various sections - 94-98 7.3L, the two forums above, 6.4L and the 6.7L.

Where in NorCal do you call home? We have a NorCal chapter for us members up here. Click on the WCS logo in my sig to take you there. We hang out in the WCS Chat area if you're interested in yacking with other NorCal folks.

I am up over by Yuba City. I am active duty Air Force, out of Beale AFB. And thanks for the little tips. I look forward to learning all that I need to know.

And, as to how new, probably no newer than 2008, just becuase I do not want to spend too much money. Not a scrooge, but, I rather get something used, thats a fair price, than risk getting gouged by a dealership for something new.

Can't wait to do more exploring and such, and check out the Northern California chat stuff.

I'm also in the AF stationed at Beale. What squadron are you in? I'm at the 13th IS. Welcome to the forum!

Yea, I've seen a few members on here from beale and travis. I've been searching for diesels for the past year I've been here. Sold my '11 Titan then picked up my '04 F-250. I know where to buy, and where not to buy around here. As far as maintenance and things to know, I'm in the same boat as you. LoL.
