Gettn her on Friday

after always wanting a diesel truck, I'm flying down to Atlanta from New York on Friday to buy one

Here's a linky to it on autotrader. seems to be a good deal.

Cars for Sale: 2004 Ford F250 4x4 SuperCab FX4 in Atlanta, GA 30342: Truck Details - 340958281 - AutoTrader.com

im bringing a coolant pressure gauge with t's to tap into the system and check for blown heads. Im also checking for difference of ECT and EOT with a scangaugeII before purchase. It was frustrating that I couldn't find a shop to check those things for me...

to say im excited is an understatement!

any hints or suggestions?

don't be afraid to walk away if something is off (or use it to negotiate a better price)

Welcome to the site! And Im happy to see your taking the proper steps and proper tools with you to check out the truck before you sign! Ive read were some guys were flying across country and were planning on having there mechanic check it out once they got home!
I mean what are you gonna do if you get the truck 1000 miles from the dealer and then find out its about to explode on you? Call for a renogatiation of the contract?
Hope it all go's well! Keep us informed! And dont forget to check ficm volts and alternator output!

Fantastic advice!! Take someone with you, even if they know nothing about the truck to keep you grounded.
