hopeful 7.3 owner

Hi, I'm anthony.. the whole year of 2012 I was learning as much as I could on diesel vehicles...maintaining and upgrading. I got hooked on diesel from my dads 97 XLT. The truck had everything, the heavy axles, the nice wheels, nice sound system, power everything, it even had the somewhat rare (I've been told) electric blue color... only thing is my dad sold the truck after it started to go downhill after twelve years of hard work. The body was rotting, the frame was getting worn, the turbo was shot along wwith the glow plugs, relay and injectors. I planned on putting in aftermarket exhaust, turbo, injectors, brakes, and bearings, and working on the body at vocational tech school... I found he had sold it and was crushed.. now I'm on the search for a decent 97 single cab and as much knowledge of upgrading and mainting the 7.3 as possible... anyone who could point me in the right direction for the best upgrade parts for a Daily driver on a stock auto I woukd greatly appreciate it. Sorry bout the wall of text... I'm off to read as much as I can in the 7.3 section.

alot have people have mentioned powertroke-help..... the guy seems like he doesnt really know what hes talking about to me.

I got started myself with my Dad's 7.3 IDI which he passed down to me until I bought my gasser 150 and eventually my current truck. Its a hearitage and an addiction. Good luck in your truck searches.

Dont discredit Powerstrokehelp too much. He knows what he's talking about and has his hands in it all but I think he's a little over the top on some subjects. I still thoroughly enjoy his videos.
