The Adventure Begins!

Greetings from Ontario, Canada! I have spent hours and hours and hours reading these forums in preparation of my first diesel purchase. Well, a couple days ago I put some money down on a 2006 F350 SRW Crew Cab short box. Even though I am in Ontario, I am flying out next Tuesday to Vancouver to look at the truck and most likely drive it all the way back across Canada! I have never made this trip before so I am excited to both see the truck and begin the trip.

All the best!

Chris

Thank you for the warm welcome SuperC! I have been searching for a couple months for a good 2006/7 F350 and have looked at hundreds of them online. I think this is the best one for me that I have found. 1 owner, full doc's and only 60k miles/100k kms. It's a West coast truck so body is mint and it's a Lariat with all the goodies.

To say I am a little excited is a major understatement haha

I don't have a monitor so I am just going to hope for the best on this trip. It would be nice to be able to have a look at certain readings before purchase, but I still haven't decided what type of programmer/guages setup I am going to go with once I get the truck in my driveway.

Just wait till ya get behind the wheel, crank 'er over and start driving!!! That's when the "I-can't-get-the-smile-off-my-face" mod happens. It MIGHT wear off by time you get back to Ontario.....no guarantees though.

I have already test drove a couple here in Ontario. And oh my... you are so right on the money! I just can't believe how good these trucks work! I have a 2011 F150 with the 5.0. It has lot's of giddy-up, but it doesn't compare to the torque of the 6.0.

I am definitely hooked for life now!

I totally agree Kinnisoj, but they are closer to $250 here and I don't want to throw that money at something that I might end up replacing. It is a pretty big dilemma for me at the moment. I know I should have some type of gauge when I look at the truck.
