Howdy all. New guy here checking in from Shreveport, LA. I just got a shiny new F-350 Lariat (6.7, crew cab, long bed SRW). I have been yearning for this truck for many years. I'm a lifelong Ford fan and have owned nothing but Fords for the last 23 years (since i bought my first car). I spent about 10 years working as a parts man for a Ford dealer after I got out if the Navy. My dad just retired from the same dealership so it's in my blood! I decided to chase a career in the oil and gas industry so for the last 10 years I have been helping to put fuel in your tanks.

Anyways, just wanted to check in. I look forward to the good info to be found here and contributing what I can to other members.

Thanks,
Steve O

Welcome to the ORG brother. Hope you have nothing but good luck with your new ride. Do you use your truck out in the oil field or do you just work in the industry?

I just work in the industry, not much time spent in the field anymore. It will make some location visits from time to time but nothing serious. The comany I work for does use all Fords, they tried Dodge for a few years and although we could buy them cheaper, the total cost of ownership was much higher (and they didn't hold up near as well).

The oil and gas industry is booming right now, there is definitely money to be made especailly for CDL drivers. There is a lot of activity just up the road from you from PA to OH.

Yea I know. But I have been thinking more and more thoughts about moving to Texas at some point. Love it down there.

Thanks!

Texas is even better for oilfield work and I think it's just better overall. The San Antonio area is a big hot spot for activity right now. Depending on what you are interested in doing, I can probably point you in the right direction. PM me if you decide to pursue it.
