new member...new truck!

Hey everybody! I've been on TDR a long time...been driving Dodges a long time, but now I'm here! Just bought a 07 F550, is there anything I should know about it? First mods will probably be exhaust and intake, not sure if I should go cold air, or just replace the filter in the box...so far I love everything about the truck!

Welcome from another newbie

Welcome to the site. I have found a bunch of good information on here. Only real thing to watch with your new truck is running the Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel fuel. If you run Low Sulfur Diesel, your diesel particulate filter that is designed to go 100-150k miles will only last you about 50k if you are lucky. And just know that they are very expensive to clean or replace. Looking at an average of $1500 to clean, and $3000 to replace. Unless of course you got a really early 2007 without the particulate filter. One other fact to keep in mind is that sulfur in diesel fuel serves as a lubricant for the injectors, fuel and injector pumps. It's a good idea to use some sort of quality fuel additive. Thats just my opinion though. By 2010 there will be no more low sulfur diesel availabe as off-road apps will also be required to run ULSD.
