New member from Alabama...........

New member from Jasper, AL...just bought a White 2006 F 250 XLT cream puff. This truck had 59,000 miles on it and all service has been done at the dealership according to CarFax. The Turbo and alternator were replaced under warranty. It is a one owner and has been garage kept. Everything about it looks brand new.

I got 20.5 mpg on the first half tank (326 miles) half interstate and half secondary roads. Towing my 5th wheel I have gotten 10.9 mpg (half interstate half secondary roads with a lot of big long hills). The first 1000 miles is showing 18.5 mpg average...a good deal better than my 02 F 150!!

I am very anal about maintenance, just had the 60,000 mile service done at the dealership (oil change, coolant flush and fuel filters). I have never owned a diesel so any suggestions would be welcomed. I have my scangauge hooked up and it shows coolant temps as high as 215 (90+ deg ambient) while towing my 5th wheel up big long hills. It normally shows 190-202 on flat interstate while towing, but the dash gauge doesn't seem to move much after the truck is warmed up. Is this normal??
